(read more on this below)
What Are We Really After? Pearls of wisdom, philosophy and knowledge ideally but the following is also welcome Limericks, Poems, Songs, Jokes, Humour, Statements and questions as long as it is no more then a typical paragraph then it will be fine.
If you have just discovered this section.
Try going away and thinking about what you would like to contribute. Make it personal and unique. Make something up which holds weight to your life and is personal, adapt what you have heard to suite your needs. Imagine you are Shakespeare… and create what could be a life altering epiphany for someone else or maybe even yourself. Be creative and use your imagination but what is of up most importance is that you try and contribute something.
Only unique contributions will be published and entered for our charity run. The same quote from different people will only be entered once.
We will accept famous and popular quotes but this is ill-advised. If 50 people contribute the same popular quote we are left with only one contribution when it could have been 50. In turn a donation goes from £5 to 10p… Be as unique as you can be.
When you submit, provide as much contact information as possible, allow for mobile phone changes, use your most common email address, land line numbers etc The best options are the Social Networking Sites, all our connections are on the home page. Don’t forget to include your social networking ID when you submit your contribution.
Who Gets The Final Donation? Ok that’s a pretty tough one to figure out. Personally we would like to donate to Cancer research but we are not everybody and we are not contributing all the thoughts. We are fully aware of charities all over the globe, some of which we will never have heard of but are still extremely important to different people from all walks of life. So here’s what we propose:
3 Final Donations Draws.
Draw 1. When contributing state the name of a preferred charity. At the end of the charity run the charity with the most requests shall get a donation. 40%
Draw 2. A winner will be picked from all the unique entries. SolvoTerra will pick the initial entries for example 100 of the best. Those 100 will then be passed onto various individuals for a definitavie judgement proccess. The winner will get to donate to the charity of their choice. 40%
Draw 3. SolvoTerra will also provide a list of popular charities. Anybody not providing a charity name will have a random charity chosen for them or you can simply choose a charity from list. 20% Note: If you choose from the list then the entry will be contributed to Draw 1 at a 40% steak. Non-submission of a charity will produce a randomly chosen charity from the list for a 20% steak in Draw 3.
Note: Only one donation will be made per charity. For example if NSPCC is selected for both donation Draw 1 and Draw 2 then the winner of Draw 2 gets to pick another charity. In turn both charities will get a 40% donation. If this happens with Draw 3 then the next most popular charity from Draw 3 will get picked.
More Jargon ...
Who Can Be Recommended for a Donation? That’s a tough question because we don’t know all the suggestions we are going to get, if we feel after research that a charity is fake or has dishonest intentions we will inform the contributor and ask for another choice.
Emergency services, mountain rescue, fire, etc; local charities, global charities and organisations are all fine… Our line of thinking is “if the charity or service is registered then it shouldn’t be a problem”. In addition if you are the chosen winner and you decide to donate your winnings to the local church fund or junior school fund etc then again that would be perfectly acceptable. Donating to business’s such as out door pursuits and activities would not be accepted unless contributing to funding for charitable events. Adequate proof would be required of the organized events and indeed a list of charities, organisations and recipients involved.
The Final Payments.
Final payments will be made by cheque payable to the organisation. If there are problems conflicting with this method for winners abroad then we shall adjust payment method accordingly by means of a secure and recorded transaction.
The Little Details...
Where is the Money Coming from? You wouldn’t believe it if you were told. If you would like to know then contact us and we will happily divulge the madness to our method.
What is SolvoTerra Doing to Get More Contributions?
On our travels we will be quizzing people we meet all over the world to help and to provide pearls for our quest. Collating these nuggets should make for a fantastically rich and bountiful source of wisdom, knowledge and humour. Details will be collected, recorded and published online for you to see.
When Will The Donations Be Made?
That too is a tough question. It all depends on how fast the contributions come in. Obviously the more ground work we put in the faster the contributions will arrive we are currently proposing a minimum of 18 months. (From 01-June-2010)
Can You Make a Monetary Donation To Our Money Pot?
We would rather you didn’t, so "No". Solvo Terra will never be involved in taking monies or payment from the public unless specifically selling something. If you wish, when the charity run is complete we can provide you with contact details so you can make your own personal donation.
